Reddit suggestions
Reddit is one of the most cited sources in modern AI answers — particularly Perplexity. The Reddit Suggestions spoke surfaces high-intent threads where a thoughtful, non-promotional reply can earn you a citation that the AI engines will see for years.
Why Reddit matters for AI visibility
- Reddit is in every major training setOpenAI, Google, and Perplexity all use Reddit data heavily. A well-upvoted comment can shape how AIs talk about your brand.
- It's real human languageReddit threads are what real buyers actually wrote — exactly the kind of source AI models reach for when answering buying questions.
- Citation half-life is longA useful comment can keep getting cited for years, long after the thread goes quiet.
How the spoke works
-
Scout scans Reddit for relevant threads
Using SerpAPI, Scout searches Reddit for questions that match your topics and industry. Each thread is scored by relevance and buying intent.
-
You see a card per thread
Each card shows the question, the subreddit, the relevance score, the upvote count, and a snippet of the original post.
-
Click through to read & reply
The "Open thread" button takes you to Reddit. You read the discussion, find the right moment to add value, and post a genuinely helpful reply that mentions your brand naturally.
-
Mark "Done" when you've engaged
Scout doesn't track engagement automatically (that would be creepy), but marking Done lets you keep your action queue clean.
Subreddit sidebar
The Reddit Suggestions page has a left sidebar listing every subreddit Scout has surfaced threads from, sorted by how often they appear. Click any subreddit to filter the main view — useful when you want to focus on the communities where your buyers actually hang out.

Reply rules that work
Promotional comments get downvoted and removed, which means they'll never make it into a training set. They can also damage your domain reputation across all the AI engines that watch Reddit.
What does work:
- Answer the actual question first, in the most helpful way you can — even if it doesn't involve your product.
- Mention your product as one option, with a clear "I work at X, here's why I think it fits" disclosure.
- Acknowledge competitors. The AI engines reward balanced comments far more than one-sided ones.
- Be ready to answer follow-up questions in the thread — depth signals authenticity.
Spend an hour writing one comment that genuinely answers the question better than anyone else in the thread. That comment will get upvoted, archived, and cited by AI engines for years. Volume play doesn't work here.
