Pricing questions, answered
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The free trial gives you 5 prompts and full dashboard access for 15 days, with no credit card. Upgrade only if Scout proves valuable to your team.
What happens when my free trial ends?
Your account stays accessible read-only for 14 days after the trial. You can upgrade at any time and pick up exactly where you left off — none of your data is deleted unless you ask us to.
Can I change plans later?
Yes — anytime, both ways. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle so you don't lose paid time.
How does prompt counting work?
Each unique buyer question you track counts as one prompt. Every prompt is fired at all three AI engines on every scan, so 75 prompts = 225 AI responses per scan. Limits are hard caps — you'll see a "limit reached" warning instead of unexpected charges.
Why does Scout price by improvement depth instead of prompt quota?
Other tools stop at tracking, so prompt quota is all they have to sell. Scout's value is the Optimize Hub — the specific fixes that actually lift your visibility. Higher tiers unlock more of those channels (Content, Technical, Citations, Reddit, LinkedIn, AI Audit), plus faster scan cadence so the weekly loop moves faster. Prompt quota still scales with every tier, but it's not the headline.
Are AI engines like Claude or Grok included?
Today, all plans include ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Claude (web search), Grok and Google AI Overviews are on the roadmap and will be added to all paid plans at no extra cost.
What's the difference between AI Audit and AI prompt generation?
AI prompt generation (all plans) uses an LLM to brainstorm buyer questions for you to track. The AI Audit Agent (Premium only) actually crawls your live website and produces technical recommendations for AI crawlers — schema, semantic HTML, robots.txt rules and so on.
Do you offer agency or white-label pricing?
Yes. If you're an agency tracking 5+ brands or need white-label reports for clients, email [email protected] and we'll quote a custom plan.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. One click in Settings → Billing. Cancellations stop future charges immediately; you keep access until the end of your current billing period, then your account goes read-only for 30 days before deletion.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Razorpay for global payments. Every major credit and debit card is supported, plus most international wallets. Enterprise customers can pay by invoice — contact sales.
Is there a refund policy?
If Scout doesn't fit your team within the first 14 days of any paid plan, email us and we'll refund your most recent payment, no questions asked.
