Brand Presence Breakdown
The Brand Presence Breakdown is the donut chart that lives next to the Visibility Score. It splits every prompt into one of three states so you can see, at a glance, how often you show up — and how often you're invisible.
The three states
- ● Recommended
- The AI explicitly recommended your brand as an answer. Best possible state — these are the prompts that produce actual buyers.
- ● Mentioned (not recommended)
- Your brand appeared in the answer but only as one option among many. You're known but not preferred. The biggest opportunity area: convert mentions to recommendations by sharpening positioning.
- ● Absent
- You weren't mentioned at all. Either the AI doesn't know you exist for that prompt, or it knows but doesn't consider you relevant. Both are fixable — start with the Content Suggestions for that topic.
How to read it
A healthy donut for an established brand looks roughly like:
- Recommended: 30–50%
- Mentioned: 20–35%
- Absent: <30%
Two patterns to watch for:
You have brand awareness but lose head-to-heads. The AI lists you alongside competitors but doesn't pick you. Fix by making your differentiation explicit on landing pages, comparison pages, and Reddit answers.
The AI doesn't know you exist for these prompts. You need to get cited — guest posts, listicles, third-party reviews, comparison roundups. Use the Citation Suggestions page for specific targets.
Per-model presence
Switch model tabs to see the breakdown for each AI engine separately. It's common to be strong on one engine and weak on another — for example, a brand cited heavily on Reddit may dominate Perplexity but be invisible on Gemini. Knowing where the gap is tells you where to invest.
